**insert photo of completed routed cavity as well as with pivot installed as reference of what it needs to look like**
Note: Jig is set to suit 38mm door. Pack between jig and door to suit wider doors. Jig has a centre line marked out to help centre jig to door. First mark out centre line on door and pack the jig accordingly until centre line of jig and door are aligned.
Step 1: Set up jig, clamping down on two points.
Step 2: Routing out the face: Use Festool OF 1010, set depth to 7mm (or place face under turret stop)
Step 3: Once face is routed, insert offset blocks to rout body. Use the OF 1010 and route out body to max depth OF 1010 can achieve. Ensure a max cut depth of 5-8mm each pass to minimise excess strain on router and cutter.
Step 4: Use a 20mm spade bit to clear out bulk of body to reduce wear on 160mm longe plunge router bit. Use OF 2200, set depth to 100mm. Route out body
Step 5: Remove jig, use chisel to remove any wooden “fur” by circling the chisel into the fur.
Step 6: place bottom pivot into routed cavity. Use a 8g self centering bit to pre drill holes. Use 2.5mm drill bit to take pre-drilled holes to depth of screws
Step 7: insert screws
Top Pivot Install:
Step 1: Mark out centre line of door. Place blue tape along the side of door (this will reduce tear out for the set screw adjust holes in step 6. Set up jig, align centre line on jig to centre line of door. Jig suits 38mm door, pack out jig accordingly until centre lines on jig and door align. Clamp down on two points.
Step 2: Routing out the face: Use OF 2020 with 18mm router bit, set depth to 6mm (or place face of pivot under turret stop)
Step 3: Route out face, once face is routed, insert offsets to route out body.
Step 4: Set depth to 43mm, taking out 5-8mm max each pass.
Step 5: Before removing the jig, predrill the side adjust holes with a 3mm bit
Step 6: It is critical In order to drill the holes to 8mm whilst reducing the likelihood of tear out, progress in drill bit diameter in 1mm increments. (3mm, then 4mm, then 5mm etc until you finish with 8mm.)
Step 7: remove jig, place pivot in place. Use a 8g self centering bit to pre drill holes. Use 2.5mm drill bit to take pre-drilled holes to depth of screws.
Step 8: insert screws
Step 9: insert allen keys into side adjust holes to ensure correct alignment and that screws are not fowling the path to set screw adjustment.
